Introduction of Share Mortgage Scheme

  • Joining Phillip Share Mortgage Scheme, customer can purchase stocks from a designated stock list at market price by just deposit 30% of the value of the intended stock (minimum HK$30,000). The remaining 70% of the investment amount will be financed by Phillip. Interest rate of this scheme is fixed rate. There is 1% one-off handling fee (base on investment amount). 

Benefits of the plan


  • 12 and 24 installment period available

    12 months, 24 months and First-month Payment Holiday with Interest Free (for option assign only) are available under this scheme, the monthly repayment amount for 24 months plans could be as low as around HK$3,000.

  • Interest rate as low as 2.88% p.a.

    Under this scheme, the interest rate for the 12 months installment is as low as 2.88 % p.a.*. The interest rate for First-month Payment Holiday with Interest Free is 3.38% **. THe intereset rate for 24 months installment period is as low as 3.88 %*** p.a.

    *P refers to Hong Kong Dollar Prime rate of Standard Chartered Bank, which is 5.25% on 1 November 2019.

    *P -2.37% p.a. (While "P" = 5.25% p.a.)

    **P - 1.87% p.a. (While  "P" = 5.25% p.a.) 

    ***P -1.37% p.a. (While  "P" = 5.25% p.a.)
    In each new Share Mortgage contract, “P”  refers to Prime rate of Standard Chartered Bank on draw down day.

  • Mortgaging Existing Stocks

    Client may mortgage existing stocks by transferring his/ her existing stocks in Master Account to Sub Account as collateral under the Scheme. The company will draw down up to 70% market value of the stock from Sub Account to Master Account.

  • Brokerage fee waiver

    Customer joining this scheme can enjoy brokerage fee waiver for both buy or sell order. It may help to increase client’s investment return.

  • Entitled to receive dividend

    Customers are entitled to receive the dividend from the shares purchase.

  • A various choices of stock

    Stocks with margin ratio 60% or above are available for this scheme. Customers have a wide range of choices.

  • Scheme stop any time without additional charges

    Client can repay the outstanding and terminate the scheme without any additional charges.

  1. Client joining the scheme should open a master account (margin account or cash account) and sub-account(Share Mortgage Scheme Account, margin account).
  2. Customer should deposit 30% of the investment amount (min HK$30,000) before joining the scheme.
  3. Customer should at least purchase 1 broad lot or HK$100,000 equivelant stock(whatever which is higher) on the designated stock list.
  4. Customer purchase same stock on the same trading day will regard as joining a same plan.
  5. Handling fee (1% of purchase amount) will be charged.
  6. The finance provided by Phillip should be repaid by 12 installments. Payment will be transferred from the Master Account to the Sub Account on the fifteenth day of each month.
  7. Customers can request their Account Executive to sell their stock at market price at any time.
  8. The fund received after the selling proceeds should be enough to cover the outstanding principal and interest accrued up to the settlement date. If the proceeds do not cover the outstanding principal and interest, the stocks remained will be sold out compulsorily on the next day at market.
  9. There is no addition charge for early termination of the plan, but customer has to complete the early termination application form and deposit the outstanding principle and interest accrued to the master account.
  10. There may be margin call if the net equity value (Market Value of Stock Collateral – Outstanding) of each contract in the Share Mortgage Account falls below 20% of the market value of the stock collateral.
  11. Client can only buy and sell stocks at market price. All transaction order can be only placed by Account Executive. Internet trading is not accepted.
  12. The scheme is for purchase amount form HK$100,000 to HK$1,000,000. Otherwise, it need special approval and takes longer time for approval.
