How to Trade Options

Open an account

Existing securities clients can add an options account via the mobile app.

Search a stock

Use Search on the home screen to choose your target stock.

Options trading

Go to the stock details page and switch to “Options”.

Option chain

On the option chain, select contracts by expiry and strike.

Place order

Enter price and quantity, then submit your order.

Manage positions

Check “Orders” or manage positions under “Positions”.

Open an account: securities clients can add an options account via the app.

Frequently Asked Questions

Phillip securities account clients can apply for a stock options account via the mobile app. Clients must complete the risk tolerance questionnaire and the derivatives knowledge assessment. The account is usually opened within 3 business days.
We currently support both US and HK stock options for long and short positions.
All HKEx-tradable HK stock options are supported. Supported US underlyings include most constituents of the S&P 500, S&P ADR, Nasdaq 100, and Russell 3000, as well as select ETFs.
